Abstract

The Diatessaron (Gospel harmony) was compiled in the second century, probably in Syriac and possibly by Tatian. It was widely used in the Syriac world until being replaced by The Four Gospels (literary tradition) in separated form. It is extant only in quotations, particularly in a commentary by Ephrem.
