ܚܣܡܐ ܠܚܣܡ̈ܐ ܡܒܐܫ: ܚܣܝܡܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܡܣܬܓܦ. ܐܝܢܐ ܕܚܣܿܡ ܡܬܒܨܪ: ܘܕܡܣܝܒܪ ܗܘ ܡܬܟܠܠ. ܚܣܡܐ ܓܝܪ ܓܐܪܐ ܗܘ ܩܫܝܐ: ܕܗܘ ܩܛܿܠ ܠܕܡܘܠܕ ܠܗ. ܘܡܥܪܩܠ ܓܐܪܐ ܒܐܝܕܗ: ܘܠܗ ܡܚܒܠ ܒܢܟܝܠܘܬܗ. 1
L’envie fait du tort aux envieux; mais l’envié ne subit pas de dommage. Celui qui envie est amoindri; celui qui supporte est couronné. Car l’envie est une flècle dangereuse qui tue celui qui l’a enfantée. La flèche se fiche dans sa main et le corrompt par sa tromperie 1

Gloire à la force cachée compagne de ses serviteurs en tout temps. Qu’elle m’accompagne moi pécheur dans les siècles des siècles. Amen et amen. Et que sa miséricorde se répande aussi sur l’écrivain pécheur qui a peiné pour écrire cette histoire et sur le lecteur et l’auditeur. Amen. 1
