“ܒܫܢܬ ܬܠܬ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܡܟܣܝܡܝܢܘܣ ܡܠܟܐ ܚܢܦܐ: ܦܩܕ ܗܘ̣ܐ ܗܘ ܡܟܣܝܡܝܢܘܣ: ܕܢܣܓܘܢ ܕܒܚ̈ܐ ܘܢܘ̈ܩܝܐ ܡܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܐ ܕܡܕܒܪܢܘܬܗ. ܘܓܕܫ ܥܐܕܐ ܗܘ̣ܐ ܪܒܐ ܕܚܢܦܘܬܐ: ܘܗܘ ܡܟܣܝܡܝܢܘܣ ܒܫܡܝܫܛ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܝܬܒ ܗܘ̣ܐ.” 1
“En la troisième année du règne de l’empereur païen Maximien, ce Maximien ordonna de multiplier les sacrifices et les libations dans toutes les villes de sa jurisdiction. Et il y eut une grande fête du paganisme et Maximien résidait dans la ville de Samosate.” 1
