“ܒܚܝܠ ܐܒܐ ܘܒܪܐ ܡܠܬܗ. ܘܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܚܝܘܬܗ... ܩܪܒ ܐܢܐ ܒܪܚܡܬ ܚܘܒܗ. ܐܢܐ ܡܚܝܠܐ ܣܓܘܕܗ. ܐܒܪܗܡ ܚܛܝ ܐܢܫܝ̈ܢ. ܙܐܒܝܐ ܒܫܡ ܩܫܝܫܐ.” 1
“Avec la force du Père et du Fils son Verbe et de l’Esprit Saint sa Vie… par la miséricorde de son amour je m’approche, moi son faible adorateur, Abraham le plus pécheur des hommes, de la région du Zâb, prêtre de nom.” 1

“Sur les rives du fleuve Euphrate, dans le territoire environnant, est un village qui s’appelle Resafâ, je veux dire Rôsafâ; de là, comme nous l’avons appris dans la chronologie du monde, germa notre Père saint Mâr Bar ‘Idtâ.” 1

“Et des profits qui se sont écoulés de lui au Beyt Gourbaq, ce sont eux les prêcheurs de ses actions admirables. Par la prière du vénérable saint Rabban Bar ‘Idtâ, que les habitants de ce village soient gardés de tout dommage… Christ, à la prière de ton ami Rabban Bar ‘Idtâ, souviens-toi d’Abraham qui a composé son discours et prends pitié de lui dans les deux mondes. Christ, aie pitié de ton serviteur Abraham et de ses parents, lui qui avec ta force et ton aide a assumé la composition du discours de ton saint.” 1
