"ܬܘܒ ܐܦ ܗܫܐ. ܝܘܚܢܢ ܗܿܘ ܡܥܡܕܢܐ. ܡܟܪܙ ܟܕ ܐܿܡܪ: ܐܢܐ ܩܠܐ ܕܗܿܘ ܕܩܿܥܐ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ: ܛܝܒܘ ܐܘܪܚܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ: ܬܪ̈ܝܨܐ ܥܒܕܘ ܠܫܒܝ̈ܠܐ ܕܝܠܗ."1 "Maintenant encore Jean le Baptiste prêche en disant: “Je suis la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert: préparez le chemin du Seigneur, rendez droits ses sentiers.”"1
