"ܒܣܡܟܐ ܗܘܿ ܕܒܝܬ ܡܪܝ ܐܘܓܝܢ: ܓܒܪܐ ܕܬܕܡܘܪܬܐ ܚܙܝܢܢ: ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܡܪܝ ܐܫܥܝܐ. ܒܓܢܣܗ ܕܝܢ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܚܠܒ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ: ܐܒܘܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘ̣ܐ ܫܡܗ ܣܘܡܟܘܣ ܥܬܝܪܐ ܕܛܒ."1 "Au banquet de la maison de Mâr Awgîn nous avons vu un homme admirable, qui était saint Mar Isaïe. Par sa famille il était originaire de la ville d’Alep, le nom de son père était Symmaque, très riche."1
