Et encore nous vous communiquons, frères bien-aimés, l’histoire du vaillant élu Mâr Syméon des Olives, car c’est dans le saint monastère de Mâr Samuel, Mâr Syméon et Mâr Gabriel que Mâr Syméon des Olives reçut son enseignement dans sa jeunesse. 1

Difficilement les fidèles laissèrent fermer sur lui son cercueil; il fut enterré et placé dans le sanctuaire à l’intérieur de son monastère de Qartamîn. Et Dieu réalisa et réalise toutes sortes de grands prodiges, de guérisons extraordinaires, de miracles et de secours nombreux par les ossements du vaillant Mâr Syméon des Olives pour quiconque s’approche avec amour et foi de son tombeau. Et voici qu’aujourd’hui il réalise plus de secours qu’aux jours de sa vie. Que par sa prière… Oui et amen. 1
