"ܬܘܒ ܡܘܕܥܝܢܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܚ̈ܝ ܘܚܒܝ̈ܒܝ ܫܪܒܗ ܕܢܨܝܚܐ ܓܒܝܐ ܡܪܝ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܕܙܝ̈ܬܐ. ܡܛܠ ܕܒܥܘܡܪܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܡܪܝ ܫܡܘܐܝܠ. ܘܡܪܝ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܡܪܝ ܓܒܪܐܝܠ ܐܬܬܠܡܕ ܡܪܝ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܕܙܝ̈ܬܐ ܒܛܠܝܘܬܗ."1 "Et encore nous vous communiquons, frères bien-aimés, l’histoire du vaillant élu Mâr Syméon des Olives, car c’est dans le saint monastère de Mâr Samuel, Mâr Syméon et Mâr Gabriel que Mâr Syméon des Olives reçut son enseignement dans sa jeunesse."1
