"ܗܒ ܠܝ ܡܪܢ ܐܨܘܪ ܨܠܡܐ ܕܡܠܐ ܫܘܦܪ̈ܐ: ܠܫܡܥܘܢ ܓܒܝܐ ܕܪܡܝܢ ܫܘܦܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܠܫܢܐ܀"1 "Donne-moi, Seigneur, de peindre un portrait plein de beauté pour l’excellent Syméon dont les grâces sont trop hautes pour être dites."1
