"ܛܘܒܝܟ ܝܘܚܢܢ. ܓܒܝܐ ܘܩܕܝܫܐ. ܕܒܝ̈ܠܝܕܝ ܢ̈ܫܐ. ܐܟܘܬܟ ܠܐ ܩܡ. ܕܡܪܟ ܣܗܕ ܥܠܝܟ. ܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܛܒܬܐ. ܕܐܥܡܕܬܝܗܝ ܒܝܘܪܕܢܢ. ܠܡܪܐ ܕܒܪ̈ܝܬܐ."1 "Heureux es-tu, Jean, choisi et saint, car parmi les enfants des femmes, il n’y en a pas eu de pareil à toi, selon le beau témoignage que t’a rendu ton Seigneur, toi qui as baptisé dans le Jourdain le Seigneur des créatures."1
