ܗܢܐ ܕܟܕ ܐܬܐ ܠܒܫ ܐܣܟܡܐ ܕܕܝܪܝܘܬܐ ܒܥܘܡܪܐ ܕܡܪܝ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܕܟܡܘܠ ܠܘܬ ܪܝܫ ܥܘܡܪܐ ܡܪܝ ܣܒܪ ܝܫܘܥ. ܘܡܢ ܕܠܒܫ ܠܐܣܟܡܐ ܐܬܢܙܪ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܪ̈ܓܝܓܬܐ. 1
Quand il vint au monastère de Mâr Jean de Kamoul chez le supérieur Mâr Sabrîsho‘, il revêtit l’habit monastique; après qu’il eut revêtu l’habit, il s’abstint de tout désir. 1

Et quand il eut soixante-treize ans, il quitta ce monde et son saint corps fut placé dans le monastère de Mâr Jean de Kamoul. À ses prières et à celles de tous les saints qui ont servi notre Seigneur, puissions-nous être jugés dignes du pardon. 1
