"ܗܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܛܘܒܢܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܐܬܪܐ ܕܓܪܡܢܝܩܝܐ. ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܗܘ ܐܬܪܐ ܠܐܦ̈ܝ ܩܦܘܕܩܝܐ. ܩܪܝܬܗ ܕܝܢ ܫܡܗܿ ܗܢܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܪܥܫ ܒܠܫܢܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܐ: ܐܝܕܐ ܕܦܪܙܠܐ ܡܢܗܿ ܢܿܦܩ ܠܟܠܗ ܐܬܪܐ ܕܪ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ."1 "Ce bienheureux était du pays de Germanicia, pays situé du côté de la Cappadoce — le nom de son village est Mar’ash en langue syriaque, là d’où sort le fer pour tout le pays des Romains."1
