Martyrs qui avez incliné vos cous devant l’épée avec grande joie, suppliez avec nous le Christ pour qu’il nous pardonne à cause de vous au jour où Dieu jugera et demandera compte de toutes les choses cachées; répandez devant lui votre prière et obtenez de lui le pardon; vous êtes ses vrais amis et il ne peut pas résister à votre parole. 1

Les anges suivant l’ordre s’approchent d’eux en silence; toi, homme hardi, approche-toi sagement. Ne dormons pas devant les éveillés et ne nous endormons pas parmi les veilleurs; que notre veille soit pour la réconciliation et nos chants pour l’holocauste; que les voix des hommes faibles se mêlent aux Séraphins. 1
