“ܡܕܝܺܢܬܐ ܗܘܳܬ ܡܫܰܟܠܠܬܐ ܕܒܶܝܬ ܡܰܪܕܝܢ ܠܐܘܪܗܳܝ ܡܰܪܕܶܐ ܬܪܶܝܢ ܡܰܫ̈ܩܠܝܢ ܡܶܢ ܩܰܕܡܳܝܬܐ ܘܝܰܘܡܳܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܽܘܢܳܝܬܳܐ ܗܝ ܕܡܶܬܶܐܡܰܪ ܠܗ̇ ܘܶܝܪܰܐܢܫܰܗܝܪ.” 2
“كانت مدينة عامرة بين ماردين والرها مسافة مرحلتين عن الاولى. وهي اليوم بليدة يقال لها ويران شهر” 3
“once a flourishing town between Mardin and Edessa, about two leagues from Mardin. Today it is a small village called Wayran Shahr.” 4
