“ܩܕܝܫܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܪܝ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܒܓܢܣܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܐ. ܐܒܘܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܢܨܝܒܝܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ. ܘܐܡܗ ܕܩܕܝܫܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܿ ܗܘܬ ܡܢ ܐܡܝܕ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ.” 1
“Ce saint Mâr Éphrem était d’une famille syrienne. Son père était de la ville de Nisibe et sa mère était dde la ville d’Amîd.” 1

“Et plus tard ils le firent sortir et le placèrent sous son église, et une odeur de vie s’exhala de ses os, qui procurait vie et joie à tous les croyants.
