“ܒܫܪܒܗ ܕܗܒܝܠ ܪܥܝܢܝ ܬܗܪ: ܘܠܕܘܡܪܐ ܪܒܐ ܫܪܟ: ܘܐܬܬܥܝܪ ܪܥܝܢܝ ܕܢܡܠܠܝܘܗܝ: ܠܗܿܘ ܬܟܬܘܫܐ ܕܐܚ̈ܐ ܣܥܪܘ.”1 “Mon esprit s’est étonné de l’histoire d’Abel et en est arrivé à une grande stupeur; et mon esprit a été poussé à parler de ce combat mené par les frères.”1

“ܬܘܕܝܬܐ ܠܟ ܡܪܐ ܕܟܠ: ܕܪܘܡܐ ܘܥܘܡܩܐ ܒܪܡܙܟ ܬܠܝܢ. ܘܕܘܟܪܢ ܟܐܢ̈ܐ ܐܢܬ ܢܛܪܬ: ܘܠܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܐܢܬ ܐܘܒܕܬ.”1 “Grâces te soient rendues, Seigneur de tout, car les hauteurs et les profondeus sont suspendues à ta volonté; c’est toi qui as gardé le souvenir des justes et anéanti les impies.”1
