ܗܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܪܣܡܝܐ ܐܦܝܣܩܘܦܐ ܕܐܘܪܗܝ̣. ܗܘܿ ܕܬܠܡܕܗ ܗܘܐ ܠܫܪܒܝܠ ܟܘܡܪܐ ܕܝܠܗܿ ܕܡܕܝܢܬܐ: ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܒܝܘ̈ܡܝ ܦܒܝܢܣ ܐܦܝܣܩܘܦܐ ܕܪܗܘܡܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ. 1
Or ce Barsamyâ était évêque d’Édesse; c’est lui qui avait instruit Sharbêl, prêtre des idoles de cette même ville; il vivait aux jours de Fabien, évêque de la ville de Rome. 1
