Quand mille ans eurent été achevés depuis la construction de Rome et que les jeux du millénaire eurent été célébrés et que beaucoup d’animaux eurent été tués au théâtre, aux jours de l’empereur Philippe et de ses fils, lui qui fut tué après sept ans de règne par Dèce, celui qui fit une grande persécution contre les chrétiens… 1

Et lors du synode des évêques fut établie une grande fête à leur mémoire, et une grande aumône fut apportée par l’empereur aux pauvres de la région. Et les prêtres prisonniers furent libérés, et même les derniers condamnés pour transgression. Et avec joie ils escortèrent l’empereur à Constantinople en louant et bénissant Dieu. Amen et amen. 1
