Mes bien-aimés, parce que pour beaucoup de ceux qui sont enfants de Dieu sont extraordinaires les histoires pleines de pensées divines qui nous sont prêchées par les maryrs du Christ, et qu’elles sont comme impossibles pour beaucoup, parce qu’elles conviennent plus à l’oeil qu’à l’oreille, disons devant vous aujourd’hui que les vrais croyants doivent accepter avec joie la parole de vérité et louer la vertu de ceux qui ont triomphé. 1

ܟܕ ܕܝܢ ܡܝܬ ܩܘܣܛܘܣ ܒܪܗ ܕܩܘܣܛܢܛܝܢܘܣ ܡܠܟܐ ܙܟܝܐ. ܐܡܠܟ ܒܬܪܗ ܝܘܠܝܢܘܣ ܗܿܘ ܪܫܝܥܐ. ܗܿܘ ܕܟܕ ܝܬܒ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܗܿܝ ܕܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܠܗܿ. ܗܝܕܝܢ ܦܬܚ ܒܝܬ ܦܬܟܪ̈ܐ ܘܐܩܝܡ ܥ̈ܠܘܬܐ. ܘܫܪܝ ܠܡܕܒܚܘ ܠܫܐܕ̈ܐ. 1
Quand mourut Constant, fils de l’empereur victorieux Constantin, lui succéda l’impie Julien, lui qui, alors qu’il siégeait sur le trône impérial dont il n’était pas digne, ouvrit le temple des idoles éleva des autels et commença à sacrifier aux démons. 1

Et même les gouverneurs et leurs serviteurs apportaient des aides et des dons au monastère de saint Mâr Behnam. Par ses prières… Amen. Le couronnement du vaillant martyr Mâr Behnam et de sa soeur Sarâ eut lieu le dix Kanôn I. Et voici que de leurs ossements coulent des secours pour tous ceux qui avec foi se réfugient auprès de leur châsse. Qu’à leurs prières… Amen. 1
