"ܫܘܒܚܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܕܥܠ ܟܠ ܗܿܘ ܕܡܫܟܢ ܠܢ ܠܡܚܐ ܘܡܫܒܚ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܫܒܚܝܢ ܠܗ ܐܝܟ ܡܠܬܐ ܐܠܗܝܬܐ ܕܐܡܪܐ ܕܠܡܫܒܚ̈ܢܝ ܐܫܒܚ ܘܕܫܐܛ ܠܝ ܢܨܛܥܪ."1

"ܘܗܘܐ ܕܟܕ ܐܬܟܪܗ ܐܒܘܢ ܐܠܗܝܐ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܗܿܘ ܕܐܦ ܡܝܬ ܒܗ ܟܕ ܪܡܐ ܥܠ ܥܪܣܗ ܩܪܢܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܝ. ܒܪܝ ܦܠܘܒܝܣ. ܐܡܪܬ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܐ ܠܘܬܗ ܡܢܐ ܦܩܕ ܐܢܬ ܐܒܝ."1 "Et il arriva, quand notre divin Père Jean contracta la maladie de laquelle il mourut, abattu sur son lit, il m’appela et me dit: «Mon fils Polybe!» Et moi je lui dis: «Qu’ordonnes-tu, mon père?»"1
