“ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܓܝܪ ܡܪܝ ܚܒܝܒ ܒܓܢܣܗ ܡܢ ܐܬܪܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܡܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܕܫܡܗܿ ܒܝܬ ܓܠܓܠܐ. ܒܙܒܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܡܠܟ ܡܠܟܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܐ ܩܘܣܛܢܛܝܢܣ ܢܦܩ ܛܘܒܢܐ ܡܪܝ ܚܒܝܒ ܡܢ ܩܪܝܬܗ ܟܕ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܪ ܚܡܫܥܣܪ̈ܐ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ.”

“Mâr Habîb était en effet par sa famille originaire du pays d’Égypte, d’un village appelé Beyt Galgalâ. Au temps où régnait l’empereur croyant Constantin, le bienheureux Mâr Habîb sortit de son village, alors qu’il avait quinze ans.”
