“ܗܢܐ ܡܝܬܪܐ ܐܒܘܢ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܐܒܐ ܓܪܘܣܝܡܘܣ̣. ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܠܝܩܢܐ. ܘܐܬܩܪܒ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܡܢ ܙܥܘܪܘܬܗ. ܘܡܢ ܟܕ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܛܠܝܐ ܒܩܘܢܘܒܝܢ ܐܬܪܒܝ.”1 “Ce saint et vertueux Père Gérasimos était originaire du pays de Lycie; il s’approcha de Dieu dès son plus jeune âge et dès son enfance il fut élevé au monastère.”1

“ܘܡܢ ܒܬܪܗܘܢ ܗܘܐ ܪܝܫܐ ܕܕܘܟܬܐ ܐܒܐ ܐܘܓܢܝܘܣ. ܘܕܒܪܗܿ ܠܗܕܐ ܡܪܥܝܬܐ ܐܪ̈ܒܥܝܢ ܘܫܝܬ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܘܝܪ̈ܚܐ ܐܪ̈ܒܥܐ. ܐܟܡܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܪܚܿܡ. ܘܐܬܬܢܝܚ ܕܝܢ ܒܫܒܬ̈ܥܣܪ ܝܘܡ̈ܝܢ ܡܢ ܐܒ. ܠܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ... ܐܡܝܢ.”1 “Abba Eugène leur sucéda à la tête du lieu; il administra ce troupeau pendant 46 ans et 4 mois, autant que Dieu le désirait. Il mourut le 17 Ab. À notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ… Amen.”1
