“ܒܚܕ ܡܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܝܬܒ ܐܢܐ ܒܩܠܝܬܝ ܒܩܪܝܒܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܟܣܢܕܪܝܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܒܕܘܟܬܐ ܕܡܬܩܪܝܐ ܒܐܢܒܘܣ ܐܝܬܝ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܕܘܘܢܐ ܘܒܫܚܩܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܡܛܠ ܐ̈ܚܝܢ ܟܪ̈ܝܣܛܢܐ ܥܠ ܕܚܙܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܒܒ̈ܝܫܬܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܬܐ ܡܢܘܠܝܢ.” 1
“Un jour que j’étais assis dans ma cellule près de la ville d’Alexandrie dans un endroit appelé Banbos, je fus très en douleur et en colère à propos de nos frères chrétiens parce que je les voyais affligés de nombreux maux.” 1
