“ܕܓܢܣܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܘܬܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܣܗ̈ܕܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ̣. ܣܒܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܡܛܘܠ ܕܐܬܗܪܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܪ̈ܚܡܘܗܝ. ܕܐܝܟܢ ܡܝܬ ܒܕܝܠܗܘܢ ܕܢܚܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܕܝܠܗ. ܘܗܟܢܐ ܐܬܒܛܠ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܢܫܪܘܢ ܣ̈ܗܕܘܬܗܘܢ ܥܠ ܚܘܒܗܘܢ ܕܠܘܬ ܥܒܘܕܗܘܢ.”1 “Je pense qu’il doit y avoir dans la race des mortels des martyrs pour Dieu, parce que sa miséricorde les a stupéfiés, à savoir comment il est mort dans leur nature pour les faire vivre dans la sienne; et ainsi il leur incombe de donner leurs témoignages de leur amour pour leur créateur.”1

“ܘܗܘ ܡܪܐ ܛܒܐ ܘܫܪܝܪܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܥܡ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܫܪܝܪ̈ܐ: ܘܟܠܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܫܡܗ ܙܟܝܐ: ܘܐܫܪ ܣܒܪܗܘܢ ܒܫܘ̈ܘܕܝܘܗܝ: ܘܣܡ ܬܘܟܠܢܐ ܕܚܝ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܫܪܝܪ̈ܐ ܒܡܘܬܗܘܢ: ܗܘ ܢܫܘܝܢ ܠܦܘܪܥܢܗܘܢ ܪܒܐ ܘܫܒܝܚܐ. ܕܡܠܬ ܐܢ̈ܫܐ ܕܬܐܡܪܝܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܚܟܡܐ. ܘܫܘܒܚܐ... ܐܡܝܢ ܘܐܡܝܢ.”1 “Et ce maître bon et véritable qui a été avec ses serviteurs véritables, les a couronnés de son nom victorieux, a confirmé leur espoir en ses promesses, et a placé la confiance de leur vraie vie dans leur rmort, qu’il nous juge dignes de leur récompense grande et glorieuse ??? et gloire… Amen et amen.”1
