“ܟܡܐ ܕܒ̈ܢܝ ܢܩܝܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܪܘܫܥܗܘܢ ܒܬܐܕܛܐ ܩܕܝܫܬܐ ܡܚܘܝܢ ܗܘܘ. ܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܥܡ ܒܢ̈ܝܗ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܗܿ ܒܡܚܡܣܢܢܘܬܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܡܚܘܝܐ ܗܘܬ.”1 “Autant les habitants de la ville de Nicée ont montré leur impiété envers sainte Théodote, autant et même davantage avec ses fils elle a montré la foi en son Dieu avec grande constance.”1

“ܟܕ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܡܪܬ. ܘܡܢ ܒܢܝ̈ܗ ܣܓܝ ܡܫܬܒܚܐ ܗܘܬ. ܕܫܦܝܪ ܐܡܪܬ ܗܝ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܫܘܝܐܝܬ. ܒܚܕܘܬܐ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܡܫܬܠܡܝܢ ܗܘܘ. ܕܠܢܘܪܐ ܢܫܬܠܡܘܢ ܒܦܘܩܕܢܗ ܕܛܪܘܢܐ ܕܒܝܬܘܢܝܐ. ܘܫܘܝܐܝܬ ܐܡܐ ܥܡ ܒܢ̈ܝܗ ܒܢܘܪܐ ܝܩܕܬ ܗܘܬ. ܐܝܟ ܕܦܩܕ ܪܫܝܥܐ ܒܝܫܐ.”1 “Quand elle eut dit cela, elle fut fort louée par ses fils qui dirent: «Tu as bien parlé»; ensemble avec joie ils furent livrés à la mort pour être livrés au feu sur ordre du tyran de Bithynie. Et la mère avec ses fils fut brûlée comme l’avait ordonné le méchant impie.”1
