    En l’an quatre de l’empereur Dèce, la folie était grande et la religion païenne très pratiquée, tandis que le peuple des chrétiens était peu nombreux. 1

    Beaucoup de gens et même des prêtres montèrent avec Philippe et firent une jolie caverne et y placèrent le vaillant athlète qui avait triomphé au combat et ils rendaient constamment grâce à Dieu. Et que la grâce du Seigneur, qui fut une couronne pour le bienheureux et pour Thyrsos avec tous les saints ses compagnons, soit également avec nous, qu’elle donne l’éloge avec miséricorde et reçoive les louanges de nous tous par l’intermédiaire de la Trinité sainte qui est gage des vivants. 1
