ܢܘܡܪܝܢܘܣ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܕܒܚ ܠܫܐܕ̈ܐ ܘܨܒܐ ܕܢܥܘܠ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܛܘܒܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܒܘܠܐ ܐܦܣܩܘܦܐ ܕܝܕܥ ܫܦܝܪ ܠܡܪܥܐ ܥܪ̈ܒܐ ܬܚܝܬ ܐܝܕܗ. 1
L’empereur Numérien qui avait sacrifié aux démons, voulut entrer dans la maison de Dieu. Le bienheureux Babylas était évêque et il savait bien paître les brebis qui était sous son autorité. 1

Et ainsi le bienheureux Babylas fut décapité et il lui fut placé un collier et des liens et il fut conduit à la perfection avec les enfants dont un avait douze ans, le deuxième neuf et le troisième sept. Et leur mère se tenait là et voyaut leur couronnement. 1
