Béni soit le Christ qui t’a couronné, notre Père glorieux, lui qui t’a choisi et t’a fait triompher, a conduit à son terme et rendu parfait ton combat, qui a exalté le jour de ta mémoire, car tu as écouté ton Seigneur qui t’a parlé, et tu as exécuté son commandement dans ta personne, tu as laissé le monde et méprisé sa richesse par la pureté de ton intelligence, tu as porté sa croix sur ton épaule. Voilà que les anges et les hommes te célèbrent et prononcent tous tes éloges. 1

La force qui t’a rendu fort, ô athlète, a fait de toi une source d’où coule la vie pour tous ceux qui sont en proie au tourment et à l’angoisse; persuade ton seigneur d’accorder sa paix au monde tout entier, d’éloigner d’eux toute rébellion pour que le Mauvais ne leur nuise pas. Que ta prière, notre Père, soit pour notre assemblée un mur élevé et un refuge. Amen. 1
