ܪܒ ܗܘ ܒܫܪܪܐ ܕܘܒܪܐ ܕܝܚܝܕܝܘܬܐ: ܡܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܥܒܝܕ̈ܐ ܡܪܕܐ ܪܒܘܬܗ. 1
Grande est en vérité la vie monastique: sa grandeur se soustrait à la parole des créatures. 1

ܒܓܢܣܗ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܚܕܬܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܩܝܪܐ: ܘܡܛܠ ܕܒܝܬ ܡܫܪܝܐ ܕܝܚܝܕ̈ܝܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܒܝܬ ܐܒܗ̈ܘܗܝ: ܘܒܝܕ ܨܠܘ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܝܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܢܐ ܦܐܪܐ ܕܒܘܪ̈ܟܬܐ. 1
Par sa famille, il était de la ville de Hdattâ dans le Beyt Qîrâ, et parce que la maison de ses parents était une hôtellerie de moines, à leur prière Dieu leur donna ce fruit de bénédictions. 1

ܥܢܕ ܒܪ ܡܐܐ ܒܨܝܪ ܚܕܐ ܫܢܬܐ: ܢܦܩ ܡܢ ܥܠܡܐ ܒܪ ܬܠܬ ܥܣܪܫ̈ܢܝܢ. ܘܗܘܐ ܬ̈ܠܬܝܢ ܘܬܠܬ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܕܕܝܠܡܝ̈ܐ: ܘܬܠܬܝܢ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܒܥܘܡܪܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܥܒ̈ܐ: ܘܥܡ ܪܒܗ ܣܢܛܐ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܬܠܬ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ. ܨܠܘܬܗ ܥܡܢ ܐܡܝܢ. 1
Il mourut à l’âge de cent ans moins un. Il sortit du monde à l’âge de treize ans et il fut trente-trois ans dans le pays des Daylamites, trente ans dans le monastère de Beyt Abé et vingt-trois ans avec son maître Santâ. Que sa prière soit avec nous. Amen. 1
