“ܚܒܝ̈ܒܝ ܡܫܬܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܢ ܛܘܒܢܐ ܣܪܦܝܘܢ ܟܕ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ. ܕܚܙܝܬ ܒܚܠܡܝ ܟܕ ܕܡܝܟ ܐܢܐ ܨܝܕ ܐܒܐ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܣܒܐ ܪܒܐ. ܕܐܬܘ ܬܪܝܢ ܐܚ̈ܐ ܝܚܝ̈ܕܝܐ.” 1

“Mes bien-aimés, le bienheureux Sérapion nous racontait quand il était dans le désert en Égypte: «Alors que j’était endormi à côté d’Abbâ Jean, j’ai vu en songe deux solitaires venir.” 1
