Joh. Eph., EH 2.46, mentions that the Kathara monastery given to a group of expelled miaphysite monks from Cappadocia was close to the therms of Pythia in Bithynia. This was a very popular spa resort for people from Constantinople, including the imperial court, throughout the Byzantine period.4
