“ܡܰܙܪܰܥܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܒܰܫܦܘܠܐ ܕܛܘܪܐ ܕܡܰܪܕܝܢ ܘܰܒܬܰܝܡܢܳܗ̇ ܐܶܬܩܰܪܝܰܬ ܒܫܶܡ ܡܳܪܝ ܐܠܝܐ. ܡܛܠ ܕܥܺܕܬܳܗ̇ ܒܓܰܘܗ̇ ܣܺܝܡܳܐ ܘܡܶܬܐܡܪ ܠܗ̇ ܬܘܪܟܳܐܝܬ ܓܶܦܬܠܶܟ”1
“مزرعة بلحف جبل ماردين جنوبيها سميت باسم ايليا النبي لوجود بيعته فيها، ويقال لها ايضا جفتلك بالتركية.”2
“a farm south of Mardin, at the foot of the mountain of Mardin. It was named after the prophet Elijah, because of a church in it bearing the name of this prophet. Today it is called Çiftlik in Turkish.”3
