مدينة كانت بالروم على شاطئ الفرات شرقيها بالو وغربيها خربوت في طرف ارمينية2
a city in the Roman territory on the Euphrates. To its east lies Balū and to its west Kharput, contiguous to Armenia.3

Notes

Moosa's English translation of Barsoum's description was incorrectly published under the headword "Samosata," while his description under the headword "Arsamosata" in fact describes the village Kaʿbiya.
