"The son of Bosmarios, king of Georgia (Iberia), he was brought up in Constantinople as a political hostage at the court of the Emperor Theodosius II."1 In hagiography: Peter the Iberian was the son of the king of Georgia. He helped Nestorius preach a homily about the saints. He went on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem and became a monk. He became Bishop of Maiuma in Gaza and was exiled to Egypt in 455.Status: draft
