“Joh. Eph., EH 2.13, names two Sergii who were both priests and part of his episcopal retinue. One of them was, as syncellus, John's right-hand man, the other one of his disciples. They were both imprisoned during the miaphysite persecution in the early 570s and eventually confined in the monastery of Rabbula in Constantinople.”2
