Patr. of Antioch, ordained on 17 Aug. 793 in Ḥarran, died in June or August 817 in Mosul (the sources are not unanimous); he came from Tagrit; before becoming Patr. he had been a monk in the Monastery of Esṭona near Kallinikos.1

Descriptions

In hagiography: Cyriacus was commemorated an elderly monk of the Monastery of Esṭona, called the monastery of the column or pillar, on the left bank of the Euphrates. He became Patriarch of the Syrian Orthodox Church and held at least five synods to address internal conflicts.
