Abstract

An ancient work of cosmology originally written in Greek under the name of Aristotle and translated into several languages, including Latin, Syriac, and Arabic. It should be distinguished from the Aristotelian work On the Heavens (De Caelo).

"ܐܓܪܬܐ ܕܫܕܪ ܐܪܝܣܛܘܛܠܝܣ ܠܐܠܟܣܢܕܪܘܣ. ܥܠ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܕܗ̈ܘܝܐ. ܙܒ̈ܢܝܢ ܣܓܝ̈ܐܢ ܟܕ ܡܬܚ̇ܫܒ ܐܢܐ ܐܘ ܐܠܟܣܢܕܪܐ. ܨܒܘܬܐ ܐܠܗܝܬܐ ܘܡܥܠܝܬܐ ܒܫܪܪܐ ܐܬܚܙܝܬ ܠܝ ܕܐܝܬܝܗ̇ ܦܝܠܣܘܦܘܬܐ"1 "Πολλάκις μὲν ἔμοιγε θεῖόν τι καὶ δαιμόνιον ὄντως χρῆμα, ὦ Ἀλέξανδρε, ἡ φιλοσοφία ἔδοξεν εἶναι"4
