“ܝܘܡܢܐ ܙܕܩ ܠܢ ܕܥܡ ܢܒܝܐ ܪܘܚܢܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܢܙܡܪ. ܕܩܪܝܒ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܬܒܝܪ̈ܝ ܠܒܐ̣. ܘܠܡ̈ܟܝܟܝ ܪܘܚܐ ܦܪܩܿ.” 1
“Aujourd’hui nous devons chanter avec le prophète spirituel David: “Le Seigneur est proche des coeurs brisés et il sauve les esprits humbles.”” 1

“En l’an 707 selon le comput des Grecs, les Huns sortirent et firent beaucoup de prisonnierset ils dévastèrent le pays et ils vinrent jusqu’à Édesse.” 1

“Alors ils l’emmenèrent et le firent sortir de la ville et il reçut la sentence de l’épée; et à cause de beaucoup de persuasion il fut préservé du feu.
