"ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܙܒܢ̈ܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܡܠܟ̈ܐ ܡܗܝ̈ܡܢܐ̣. ܓܪܐܛܝܢܘܣ ܘܐܠܐܢܛܝܢܘܣ̣. ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܒܡܕܝܢܬ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܩܘܢܣܛܢܛܝܢܘܦܠܝܣ ܐܘܦܪܟܐ ܕܡܠܟܐ. ܫܡܗ ܗܘܐ ܓܐܠܝܢܘܣ. ܡܠܟ ܗܘܐ ܡ̈ܠܟܘܗܝ ܕܡܠܟܐ. ܘܛܒ ܚܟܝܡ ܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܕܟ̈ܬܒܐ."1 "Au temps des rois croyants Gratien et Valentinien, il y avait dans la capitale de l’Empire Constantinople un homme, consul du roi, qui s’appelait Galien; il était à la tête des conseillers du roi et très savant dans la doctrine des Écritures."1
