ܐܠܗܐ ܡܪܟܠ ܡܪܚܡܢܐ ܟܝܬ ܘܡܪܚܦܢܐ̣. ܒܫܦܝܥܘܬ ܛܝܒܘܬܗ̣. ܗܢܐ ܟܠ ܐܝܬܝ ܠܗܘܝܐ. ܘܕܢܬܓܡܪ ܡܢܗ ܐܕܫܐ ܐܢܫܝܐ ܒܝܕܥܬܐ ܕܫܪܪܐ ܘܒܥ̈ܒܕܐ ܛܒ̈ܐ̣. ܠܡܗܕܝܘ ܠܛܘ̈ܒܢܐ ܘܠܡܫܒܠܘ ܠܕܘܪܓܐ̣. ܠܒܪܗ ܝܚܝܕܝܐ ܬܚܬܝ. 1
Dieu, Seigneur de tout, miséricordieux et clément, dans l’abondance de sa grâce, amena le tout à l’existence et, pour que l’espèce humaine soit rendue parfaite par lui dans la connaissance de la vérité et dans les bonnes actions, pour conduire les bienheureux et leur ouvrir progressivement le chemin, a fait descendre son Fils unique. 1

ܐܝܬ ܗܘ̣ܐ ܡܿܢ ܐܢܫ ܡܗܝܡܢܐ ܚܐܪܐ ܕܕܚܿܠ ܠܐܠܗܐ: ܥܬܝܪܐ ܡܿܢ ܒܗܠܝܢ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܘܒܗܠܝܢ ܕܟܝܢܐ: ܝܕܝܥܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܛܘܗܡܐ ܘܒܫܪܒܬܐ: ܕܫܡܗ ܫܐܒܢ ܣܥܘܪܐ. ܥܡܿܪ ܗܘ̣ܐ ܓܝܪ ܒܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܡܬܩܪܝܐ ܟܐܢ ܒܠܝܓ: ܐܘܟܝܬ ܡܕܝܢܬ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܒܐܬܪܐ ܕܡܕܢܚܐ. 1
Il y avait un homme croyant, noble et craignant Dieu, riche des choses du monde et de celles de la nature, d’une famille et d’une tribu connues, qui s’appelait Shîban le visiteur. Il habitait dans une ville appelée Khân-balîg, c’est-à-dire la capitale du pays de l’Orient. 1

Il vécut dans ce monastère qu’il avait construit jusqu’à l’année 1629 des Grecs; il mourut la nuit du dimanche “Que ta demeure est louée”, le 15 Teshrî II, et il fut placé dans le monastère qu’il avait construit. Que sa mémoire soit une bénédiction, et que les prières du catholicos Mâr Yahballahâ et de Rabban Saumâ soient sur nous, sur le monde entier, sur la sainte Église et sur ses enfants. Et à Dieu… Amen et amen. 1
