"ܛܘܒܢܐ ܒܣܝܠܝܣ ܐܦܣܩܘܦܐ ܕܩܣܪܝܐ: ܗܿܘ ܕܟܘܟܒܐ ܩܦܘܕܩܝܐ ܐܫܬܡܗ̣. ܒܛܘܗܡܗ ܒܪ ܐܢܫ̈ܐ ܝܕܝ̈ܥܐ ܕܒܥܘܬܪܐ ܟܗ̈ܝܢܝܢ ܗܘܘ. ܘܡܢ ܓܢܣܐ ܡܝܩܪܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ."1 "Le bienheureux Basile, évêque de Césarée, appelé étoile cappadocienne, était par sa famille fils de gens célèbres et abondants en richesses, et il était honorable par la race."1
