"ܛܘܒܢܐ ܡܿܢ ܗܢܐ ܐܒܝ̣. ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܒܚܕ ܡܢ ܥܘܡܪ̈ܐ ܒܡܣܪܩܘܬܐ ܘܢܙܝܪܘܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܘܥܡ̈ܠܐ ܩܫ̈ܝܐ."1 "Ce bienheureux Abbî vivait dans un monastère dans le dénuement, une grande abstinence et de durs travaux."1
