“ܒܗܿ ܬܘܒ ܒܩܪܝܬܐ ܗܿܝ ܕܡܢܗܿ ܩܕ̈ܝܫܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܐܣܛܘܢܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܓܢܣܐ̣. ܣܒܐ ܪܒܐ ܘܩܕܝܫܐ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܫܡܥܘܢ ܡܬܩܪܐ ܗܘܐ̣. ܚܒܝܫ ܗܘܐ ܬܘܒ ܡܢܗ ܕܙܒܢܐ ܕܫܘܪܝ ܬܘܠܡܕܗܘܢ ܕܩܕ̈ܝܫܐ ܐܒܪܗܡ ܘܡܪܘܢ ܐܚ̈ܐ.” 1
“Dans le même village d’où provenaient les saints stylites, un grand et sage vieillard appelé Syméon était ermite depuis le temps du début de l’enseignement des saints frères Abraham et Maron.” 1
