"ܟܠܟܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܨܿܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܝܩܪܘܢ ܥܘܗܕܢܗ ܕܝܘܚܢܢ ܥܡ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ̣. ܥܒܕܘܢ ܦܐܪ̈ܐ ܛܒ̈ܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܫܘܝܢ ܠܬܝܒܘܬܐ."1 "Vous tous qui voulez honorer la mémoire de Jean avec foi, produisez de bons fruits, dignes de la pénitence."1
