"D’où viens-tu vers nous, âmi et compagnon? De la stoa royale, homme admirable, je suis venu jusqu’à toi en désirant m’instruire à propos de ce que je veux te demander."1 "ܡܢ ܐܝܟܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܠܘܬܢ. ܐܘ ܪܚܡܐ ܘܚܒܪܐ. ܡܢ ܐܣܛܘܐ ܡܠܟܝܐ ܐܘ ܬܡܝܗܐ: ܐܬܝܬ ܕܝܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܘܬܟ̣. ܟܕ ܒܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܠܦ ܡܛܠ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܫܐܠܟ."1

"ܣܐܘܝܪܐ ܗܘ ܛܒܝܒܐ̣. ܦܝܣܝܕܝܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܒܓܢܣܐ. ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܗܢܐ̣. ܣܘܙܘܦܘܠܝܣ. ܗܕܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܛܬܗ ܒܬܪ ܗܝ ܩܕܡܝܬܐ̣. ܕܡܢܗ ܟܠܢ ܡܛܠ ܡܬܥܒܪܢܘܬܗ ܕܐܕܡ ܢܦܠܢܢ."1 "Sévère était de race pisidienne; sa ville était Sozopolis. Celle-ci en, en effet, lui échut après la première dont nous sommes tous tombés après la transgression d’Adam."1
