                    ܐ̈ܚܝ ܨܠܘ ܐܕܢܐ. ܘܫܡܥܘ ܒܦܘܪܫܢܐ. ܫܪܒܗ ܕܝܘܚܢܢ ܩܠܝܕܐ ܕܥܩܪܘܬܐ.
                
                
                    Mes frères, penchez l’oreille et écoutez avec intelligence l’histoire de Jean, clef de la stérilité.
                
                
                    ܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܟܪܣܐ ܓܠܝܬ ܠܗܿ. ܘܕܠܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܦܘܪܣܐ ܬܡܠܠ ܒܓܘ ܟܪܣܐ. ܒܦܘܡܐ ܕܝܠܕܬܟ ܫܘܒܚܐ ܙܡܪ ܦܘܡܟ.
                
                
                    Quant à toi, depuis le sein tu l’as manifestée, et comme il n’y avait pas moyen que tu parles dans le sein, ta bouche a chanté gloire par la bouche de ta mère.
