“ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܬܓܪܐ ܕܫܡܗ ܡܪܩܐ. ܘܟܕ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܡܒܥܕܐ: ܒܥܒܕܐ ܕܬܐܓܘܪܬܗ: ܐܬܟܪܗ ܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܩܫܝܐ.” 1

“Il y avait un homme marchand qui s’appelait Marc; tandis qu’il était dans un pays lointain occupé à son commerce, il contracta une maladie virulente.” 1
