“ܐܚܝ̈ܢ ܘܒ̈ܢܝܢ ܘܚܒܝ̈ܒܝܢ ܒܢܝ̈ܗܿ ܕܥܕܬܐ ܩܕܝܫܬܐ ܩܐܬܘܠܝܩܝ. ܡܘܕܥܝܢ ܚܢܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܟ̈ܬܝܒܬܢ ܢܨ̈ܚܢܘܗܝ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܪܚܡ ܠܡܫܝܚܐ.”1 1

“La famille, la race, le pays et l’enfantement du saint et pieux bienheureux Mâr Syméon étaient du côté du Nord, dans le territoire de Nicopolis et le nom de son village était Sîs. Il avait des parents croyants qui lui avaient donné le baptême quand il était petit.”1 1

“Et le Seigneur fit cesser la recherche de l’empereur qui fut convaincu de le laisser chez eux. Dieu le magnifia à tel point; et celui qui honore Dieu est honoré par Dieu et même vénéré par les hommes. le bienheureux Mâr Syméon fut couronné le mercredi 2 Éloul de l’an 701 des Grecs à neuf heures.”1 1
