“ܓܕܫ ܓܝܪ ܒܙܒܢ ܟܕ ܝܬܒ ܐܢܐ ܒܩܠܝܬ ܗܿܝ ܕܐܝܬܝܗܿ ܗܘܬ ܥܠ ܓܢܒ ܐܠܟܣܢܕܪܝܐ ܒܕܘܟܬܐ ܕܡܬܩܪܝܐ ܩܐܪܘܒܘܢ ܣܠܩ ܠܝ ܚܘܫܒܐ ܕܐܙܠ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܕܦܠܣܛܝܢܐ.” 1

“Il arriva une fois, alors que j’étais assis dans la cellule qui est à côté d’Alexandrie, dans un endroit appelé Karobon, que monta en mois l’idée d’aller en Palestine.” 1

“Et de toute notre âme confessons et glorifions Dieu qui nous a sauvés de la main des Barbares impies. Et après avoir dit cela et beaucoup d’autres choses, ??? Moi, Ammonios, faible et pécheur, je suis retourné au pays d’Égypte et j’ai consigné tout cela par écrit, méditant constamment ces mémoires des bienheureux et me réjouissant pour leurs passions victorieuses qu’ils ont affrontées pour leur Seigneur avec courage. À lui… Amen.” 1
