"ܘܟܕ ܗܘܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܡܪܝ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܒܪ ܡܐܐ ܘܥܣܪܝܢ ܫܢܝ̈ܢ ܐܬܬܢܝܚ ܒܡܛܠܝܬܐ ܗܿܝ. ܘܩܒܪܗ ܡܪܗ ܒܗܿ ܒܕܘܟܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܬܥܦܝ ܡܘܫܐ ܒܛܘܪܐ ܕܢܒܘ. ܕܨܠܘ̈ܬܗ... ܐܡܝܢ."1 "Et quand sain Mâr Jean fut âgé de cent-vingt ans, il mourut dans cet atelier.
